Let’s sell more books!
My name is Teyla Rachel Branton, and I’ve had a lot of success organizing author group promotions with authors just like you. We join together to advertise our retailer and reader magnet deals. Promoting with other authors helps only takes a little time and gets GREAT results. Most promotions are free, unless we decide to do advertising, and then I might ask you to pitch in a few bucks. It’s all rather simple, but the benefits so far have been GREAT! To join us, sign up below.

Barry Robbins
My book is humor. I see no suitable genre.
Teyla
Just humor? Is it general fiction besides that? Or is it humorous nonfiction?
Barry Robbins
Thanks for the reply. My book is political satire, so it’s fiction. But it’s not a novel. It’s a collection of skits or vignettes making fun of political figures, principally Donald Trump.
This is embarrassing, but I actually don’t know which promo company you’re responding for. I guess I’m contacting too many. Could you tell me?
Thank you.
Samuel Field
My ebook has photos and is over the 10MB limit, Is there another way to be part of this magnet sharing?
Teyla
You could create a shorter version or a sample to offer instead. Or if it a picture book, you can make your images a lot smaller and then it will be under the limit. See my guest blog on Book Cave to see how to do this: https://mybookcave.com/authorpost/getting-the-right-image-size-for-ebook/.
cathy peebles
I did not use KDP to publish so how do I promote my book?
Teyla
If you are not selling an ebook copy, ebook magnet programs won’t help you. But there are many ways to publish ebooks that aren’t through KDP. It doesn’t matter what place you publish your ebook through, you can promote it. In fact, many people who do magnet promotions offer books they have formatted into ebooks and don’t offer on ANY platform, including KDP. I have one myself. It’s available only to people who sign up on my site. So there are many ways to promote your books with an ebook or e-short story. However, you must have a book file to participate.
cathy peebles
What is a book file?
Teyla
Ebook files such as a mobi file or an epub file.
cathy peebles
I have just written the Indian and Me. It is a historical romance with lots of educational knowledge about the American Revolution and how the Indians played into this.
Kathryn Elizabeth Jones
Thank you! I am always looking for ways to market my books. My 20th will release at the end of August.

I am an indie author, my last book Behind the Fan was a Bronze Medal recipient in the Wishing Shelf Book Award. I took a successful short story: In Hiding, and developed this into a novel. This has been released in September and I am looking for Crime Lovers to read this new book!
Mary Ann Davis (writing as Cora Leland(
Was I accepted for the October newsletter builder, Lost in Time? Thanks.
Teyla
Mary Ann, I don’t see a submission for your book on the group dashboard. Do you need help getting in on Book Cave Direct?
Carlene Szostak
I am new to this site and am currently an author of a non-fiction book.
Mark Johnson
I’m commenting because I signed up.
Keri
Thanks for the email information. I had just gone wide this weekend, so it was perfect timing! 🙂
AM Scott
Great idea–thanks for putting this together!
Teyla
You’re welcome!
Debra Erfert
I have all of my books published wide, but it’s through D2D, and I’d love to have a bit of help publishing them directly to the other platforms.
Teyla
That’s fairly easy to do. Do you need links of where to upload?
Debra Erfert
A year ago or so I tried to sigh up to publish on iBooks, but I keep getting a blasted run-around when signing in. I changed a password, yet it doens’t recongize it. I got so frustrated that I gave up entirely and used D2D, which didn’t give me a hassle. And, yes, I would appreciate links to the B&N site, and Nook. I’m not sure what the other ones that are popular.
Debra Erfert
Yes, I would appreciate links!
Debra
Teyla
I’ll post them on the Facebook group for the wide authors!
Greg Cmiel
My book, The Dark days of Dmitry, was not accepted in your upcoming promo, Urban and Contemporary Fantasy. I’m not sure why. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. This book has appeared in dozens of promos and has done quite well. Thank you.
Teyla
Looks like it was a sample not a complete story!
Jo Noelle
What is the link we send to readers for “All Romance” in May? Please send to my email if possible.
Teyla
You should have gotten an email from me on April 30. I am sending out another with the link today.
Gretchen Jeannette
American historical fiction is my thing, preferably 18th Century.
Teyla
That’s great!
Paul Arvidson
Fab, thank you 🙂

I write cozy mysteries under two names now –M’Lissa Moorecroft and the new one, Chrissy Chase. M’Lissa has three series — The Blackfriar Mysteries, Seascape Cove Cozy Mysteries and The Silver Springs Cozy Mysterie while of course Chrissy has only one — The Crystal Shores Cozy Mysteries.
Teyla
Sounds great!

Ken Urbansky
I’m writing a Christian series. Some Fantasy, little romance, some historical biblical fiction, and crime. Do I fit any of your groups? Rated Moderate+
Thank you
ken
Teyla
Sorry for not responding sooner. I responded to your other comment, but I have a Speculative Feast promo coming up in April that might work for you!
Ken Urbansky
Hi Teyla. I am writing a Christian series. It contains a little romance, some fantasy, some speculative biblical fiction, some crime drama and some end times stuff. Could you suggest a group I might fit into.
Teyla
You can join a speculative promotion, romance promo (if it’s mostly romance), or a Christian one (I typically do at least one or two Christian promos a year). As long as the rest of your content fits into one of the other promos, you are welcome to join!
Joan Whiteley
Just so you know, I publish books under a few names for different genres –M’Lissa Moorecroft for Cozy Mysteries, Lexi Sexton and Virginia Innocenti for the hot stuff, Edwina J White for contemporary and Franki Ann Jones for sweet and clean…looking forward to working with you. I post promotions on my newsletters and on twitter.
Teyla
Super! Looking forward to it.
Laura
Hi, Teyla! I tried to sign up for the sweet romance promo notifications, but never received a confirmation. Can you let me know if I did sign up? Thanks so much!
Teyla
Yes, you are signed up! I’ll have to check why you didn’t get a notice. Thanks for letting me know. But just in case, check your spam filter!
Laura Haley-McNeil
Hello, Everyone! I’m glad to be part of this group. I write sweet and clean contemporary romance, new adult and romantic suspense. I look forward to getting to know everyone better! Have a wonderful day!
Carolyn Chambers Clark
I’m signing up to participate in your February mystery promotion and am currently in your romance magnet promotion. Thanks for all you do!
Teyla
You’re welcome!
Deb Brammer
Did you notice the “Into the Light” promo has the wrong date at the top? It says December 1-31, 2020. A year from now. Wonder if you wanted to change it.
Teyla
Thank you for letting me know. I fixed it a week or so ago.
M. E. Weyerbacher
Glad to join and get updates. I am not sure if you got my email or not–a question of whether a prequel to my novel was allowed in your winter promo?
Thanks!
Teyla
Prequel stories are welcome as long as they aren’t cliff hangers! We just don’t want any samples or teasers for that promo. Thanks!
Louise Rose-Innes
Hi, I’m new to Bookcave and I can’t figure out where to add the code number to the magnet link?
Louise Rose-Innes
Oh, I think I’ve done it. 🙂
Teyla
Super! Please email me if you need help! Or email Book Cave. They’re really friendly.
Louise Rose-Innes
Thanks for the opportunity.

Are we allowed to promote the same book in more than one group promo? My book will be in Spooky Thrills next month but it could also be in YA Fantasy which runs at the same time. Is that allowed?
Teyla
Yes, usually that is not a problem. Unless otherwise stated in the description.
Roo
Just when I was looking for a new group Author go team arrives in my inbox. Good timing.

I just signed up for your June SFF promo and put in one reader magnet. Can I put in another (in a different sub-genre) in the same promo?
Nathaniel Wyckoff
My current books cross a number of genres, and I’m planning to expand into young adult historical fiction next. Thanks for this opportunity, Teyla!
Teyla Rachel Branton
Did you see the Middle Grade Magic reader magnet group promotion that we’re organizing on the upcoming promotions page? It’s for all genres of middle grade, not just fantasy because all middle grade books are magic, lol! Here is the url to read about it: https://authorpromos.teylarachelbranton.com/upcoming-promotions/.
Angela Joseph
Hi Teyla,
I’m in the Celebrate His Love promo. I would like to send you a copy of my newsletter email but I accidentally deleted your email. Could you reply so I can send it to you? Thanks!
Teyla Rachel Branton
I sent you another email this week, so hopefully you got it?
Angela Joseph
Yes, I got it. Thank you!
Tara Ellis
I’m looking forward to doing more promos with you! Thanks for the invite. 🙂
Paul W West
Sounds good. What do I need to do?
Paul W West
Hi Teyla,
This promo site sounds interesting. How does it work?
Teyla Rachel Branton
Paul, if you can take a peek at the promos I’m planning, you can get an idea: https://authorpromos.teylarachelbranton.com/upcoming-promotions/. If you have a magnet books, you can join a magnet promo. If you are with a publisher, you can join, or suggest that I create a retailer discount group promo. I have two of those in the works now.
Paul
Thanks Teyla. Sounds great. BTY, I’m not sure what constitutes a “magnet.”
Paul W West
Teyla,
Just wondering. Does the magnet book have to be tied to Amazon or another retailer? Or, can I give a copy of my own pdf or mobi file to get people’s email addresses to add to my blog site?
Teyla Rachel Branton
Magnet books are not connected to any retailer. They are always books that you upload yourself on My Book Cave. They require mobi and epub files. They collect the addresses and you then download them and add them to your newsletter. I have seen you sign up for several magnets, but I’ve never had your book appear on the group, which means you haven’t uploaded a magnet Book Cave on your dashboard yet. If you need help, let me know!
Paul W West
I have a book listed on My Book Cave. It is titled “Bridgetown High” by Paul W West. What do I need to do to make it a magnet book?
Teyla Rachel Branton
I’m so sorry for not seeing this comment, Paul. I make a book a magnet, you need to have the mobi (kindle version) and the epub and upload them on your magnet dashboard. Please email them if you need help doing it. If you are with a traditional publisher, you will need to get their permission.
Satin Russell
Sounds great! Looking forward to promoting together!
Teyla Rachel Branton
Good to have you!
Angelique Conger
I’m always interested in historical fiction promotions. Thank you.
Teyla Rachel Branton
Okay, we’ll plan one soon! If you can help find more historical authors who might be interested, that would be great!
Paul
Count me in. I have a fair sized following and I write historical fiction, if you count mid-1960s historical.
Chogan
My Magnet is also historical (and SciFi) I’d like to include it when you do one in HF
Debra Erfert
Let me know what kind of help you need.
Teyla Rachel Branton
Well, if you have an idea of a promotion you want to do, or even help me organize, I’d love to start planning it! Just think and let me know.
Joyce DiPastena
Great idea! You’re amazing, Teyla Rachel Brandon! Thanks so much for organizing this!
Debbi Mack
How often do you plan to run promos and are we committed to all of them?
Teyla Rachel Branton
You participate only in the promotions you’re interested in. I am going to try to do at least one or two magnets and one retailer promotion a month (different genres,) but it will depend on interest from all the authors. If some authors volunteer to help, we could do more. Thanks for your interest!
Michelle
I’m interested in futuristic suspense (suspense), Urban fantasy, YA/NA coming of age adventure, MG non fiction
Teyla Rachel Branton
Okay, just make sure you’re signed up for those genres! Glad to have you!
